Location

The Queen's Hall is on Beaumont Street, Hexham, Northumberland. A printable map of Hexham available at www.streetmap.co.uk search under our postcode NE46 3LS.

By Car

Hexham is located approximately 22 miles west of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the direction of Carlisle and the Queen's Hall is only a five minute drive from the A69 dual carriageway.

From all directions: Leave the A69 dual carriageway at the large roundabout signposted Hexham and follow the A6079.

Go straight ahead at two mini-roundabouts (crossing the river Tyne) and then turn left at the third (continuing on the A6079).

You will pass Hexham Train Station on the left and sweep up a steep hill. At the top of this hill turn right at the roundabout (A6305)and drive along Priestpopple. After the fourth pedestrian crossing, you must take a right turn into Beaumont Street.

The Queen's Hall is on the right hand side of Beaumont Street - opposite the main park gates and before you reach the abbey.

Parking

If you are attending a performance after 6pm, free parking is available on Beaumont Street or just behind the Queen's Hall. At other times this parking is metered. If you cannot park on Beaumont Street please carry on down the road past Hexham Abbey and turn left into Gilesgate. Alternative parking can be found there.

By Train

The Queen's Hall is a five minute walk from Hexham Train Station.

On leaving the station, please cross the road and turn left. After a few yards turn right through some metal bollards and head up the pedestrian path (Orchard Road) which borders playing fields. Cross the road you come to and carry on up the pedestrian path (which turns into Hall Bank and then Hallgate.) One you reach the flat, carry on for a minute and then cut through an archway (the Edinburgh Woollen Shop is on your left) and you will come out into the Market Place. With the abbey to your right, walk up the main road (Beaumont Street) on the left hand side and the Queen's Hall is found just opposite the main park gates.

This walk is up a slight incline and may not be suitable for elderly or infirm people.

By Bus

Alight at Hexham Bus Station on Priestpopple. Turn left and walk along Priestpopple passing the HSBC and NatWest banks, until you reach Beaumont Street on the right (this is a main road with a park on the other side). The Queen's Hall is on the right hand side of Beaumont Street - opposite the main park gates and before you reach the abbey.
